Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, confirmed that the PlayStation will not block the use of used media.  This is great news for gamers, companies like  EB Games or their American sister store GameStop and online game rental services like GameFly.

This all happened in a great interview by Eurogamer just hours after the NYC conference which announced the PlayStation 4 console.

Yoshida: “They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that’s my expectation.”

Interviewer: “So if someone buys a PlayStation 4 game … you’re not going to stop them reselling it?”

Yoshida: “So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?”

Apparently, the anti used games patent found last month wasn’t filed for the PlayStation after all.
