During a filming of the Korean auto show Top Gear, host Kim Jin Pyo, driving a Corvette ZR1 was attempting to race a AH1 Cobra helicopter around a racetrack.  While the race itself was successful, the aftermath was a little disastrous .  Check out the video after the jump.

As the helicopter attempted to turn around in ‘showy’ fashion, the pilot came in a little to low and slammed into the ground.  Fortunately, given how close the crash was to the film crew, there were no serious injuries.

This is not, however, the first dramatic crash during the filming of this show.  In 2006, during season 9 of the UK version, driver Richard Hammond crashed a jet engine car at over 300 MPH sustaining a significant brain injury which “reduced him to a “child-like state” in which he became obsessed with LEGO bricks”.

Hammond has mostly recovered from brain injury and did return to television later that year. His survival was considered a “medical miracle”.
